What is microneedling? 

Microneedling is a cosmetic skin treatment where tiny, sterile needles are used to create small punctures in the skin. This creates micro-channels into your skin layers and this triggers your body to produce more collagen and elastin. 

This treatment is good for: tightening the skin, reducing fine lines/wrinkles, reducing acne scars, reducing uneven skin texture or tone.

Who can’t have microneedling?

• if you have active skin infections (I.e. cold sores)
• If you have active inflammatory skin conditions (I.e. moderate-severe inflammatory acne, or an active flare up of rosacea) 
• Open wounds or lesions
• Skin cancer
• History of abnormal scarring (keloid formation, or hypertrophic scars)
• Recent radiation therapy
• Severe skin diseases (I.e. psoriasis, or eczema) 
• Use of accutane (must wait 6-12months after)
• Use of retinol products (must stop at least a week before microneedling appointment)
• If you are pregnant
• Recent cosmetic procedures (wait at least 2 weeks) 

Recommended before treatment:

• X3M EGF Glow essence moisturiser by CliniCare

It is recommended to use this moisturiser at least 2 weeks before the microneedling treatment. This is to prevent any risks of post inflammatory pigmentation; this is especially recommended for anyone with darker skin tones.
